Just over a year ago, construction began to renovate, modernize, and transform Murphy Hall. The new Murphy will debut this fall, on time and on budget, as the University's first LEED-certified building. We are also thrilled that the state of Ohio awarded JCU historical tax credits for the project at the end of June. Murphy, along with six other buildings, are now on the National Register of Historic Places.
While the outside of Murphy looks the same, you won't believe the inside! All alumni are invited back to campus on Thursday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m. to relive the nostalgia of their college days at an exclusive sneak preview tour of the legendary residence hall. Enjoy refreshments, music, and food trucks courtesy of the alumni relations office. Tours will depart from the lobby on the half hour beginning at 6 p.m.

Varsity soccer milestones
This fall, John Carroll celebrates two athletics milestones as 2014 marks 50 years of men's varsity soccer and 25 years of women's varsity soccer. The University will recognize the two programs during Homecoming Weekend (September 26-28), including the 32nd Annual Andrew "Dewey" McCarthy '81 Alumni Soccer Game. All soccer alumni and friends are invited back to campus to celebrate our rich history on the pitch! Learn more about the McCarthy Alumni Game.

Chicago Alumni Chapter spotlight
Chicago alumni have been invigorated with the formal inception of the chapter in 2012. Five committees, headed by 10 co-chairs, are currently working to present programs and events to reach and serve our 1,900 alums in the Windy City. "Personally, it has been impressive to see the talent and enthusiasm of the many Chicago alums who have stepped forward to enhance the presence of John Carroll University in Chicago," says chapter president Thomas Ahern '70. Visit the chapter on Facebook.
